How to Measure Your Hand for LED Light Gloves
To size Futuristic Lights gloves, measure your palm width and your hand length, keep the larger number, round it up, and match it to the store's size chart.

To size Futuristic Lights gloves, measure your palm width and your hand length, keep the larger number, round it up, and match it to the store’s size chart. The same chart covers its magic stretch gloves and the pair of gloves packed in each LED glove set, so one measurement settles both. You can find the current code on our Futuristic Lights discount code page.
Why glove fit matters for gloving
A glove set is a pair of thin stretch gloves with one microlight in each finger. If the gloves are loose, the lights shift around your fingertips. If they are too tight, the gloves can limit how freely your fingers move. Futuristic Lights makes the same point on its sizing page: gloves that fit badly can restrict movement or look loose, which takes away from a light show.

Its glove sets, such as the Atom motion reactive LED light gloves, the Ion set and the SE Atom set, are sold in S, M, L and X-L. Each set comes with one pair of Futuristic Lights Premium Magic Stretch Gloves, so the size you pick at checkout is the size of those gloves.
How to measure your hand, step by step
You need a soft measuring tape, or a piece of string and a ruler. Futuristic Lights gives these steps:
- Lay your dominant hand flat on a table with your fingers together.
- Wrap the tape or string around the widest part of your palm, front and back, leaving your thumb out. If you use string, mark where it overlaps and measure that length with a ruler.
- Keep your hand flat and measure its length, from the tip of your middle finger to the point where your wrist meets your palm.
- Write down both numbers in centimeters or inches.
- Keep the larger of the two numbers and drop the smaller one.
- Round the larger number up: to the next whole centimeter, or to the next half inch.
The store’s own examples: 19.1 cm rounds up to 20 cm, and 7.3 inches rounds up to 7.5 inches.
Reading the Futuristic Lights size chart
Take your rounded number and find the range it falls in. These are the hand size ranges Futuristic Lights publishes:
- X-Small: up to 16.25 cm (up to 6.40 inches)
- Small: 16.26 to 18.5 cm (6.41 to 7.28 inches)
- Medium: 18.51 to 20.5 cm (7.29 to 8.07 inches)
- Large: 20.51 to 23 cm (8.08 to 9.05 inches)
- X-Large: 23.01 cm and up (9.06 inches and up)
Both store examples land in Medium: 20 cm sits between 18.51 and 20.5 cm, and 7.5 inches sits between 7.29 and 8.07 inches.
One thing to note: the chart lists an X-Small, but the glove sets and the stretch gloves we looked at offer S, M, L and X-L as size options. If your hand measures in the X-Small range, ask Futuristic Lights before you order which size it suggests.
What to do if you fall between two sizes
Futuristic Lights suggests ordering an extra pair of magic stretch gloves in the other size, so you can try both and keep the one that feels better. Because the stretch gloves are sold on their own, this is a small add-on next to the cost of a full set.
The store describes these gloves as made from breathable acrylic fibers with reinforced stitching and a tight fit. It also says it adds extra length to each finger so the gloves last longer and are less likely to stretch out. A spare pair is handy anyway, since gloves are the part of a set that wears first.
Measure before you open the box
Sizing matters more here because of the return rules. Futuristic Lights accepts returns within 15 days of purchase, and the item has to be unused, unopened, in its original packaging and in the condition you received it, with proof of purchase. Opened or used returns may carry a restocking fee of 20% to 50%, sale items cannot be refunded, and you pay the return shipping.
The store only swaps items that are defective or damaged, so a wrong glove size is not something you can simply exchange. That is why we suggest measuring first, checking the chart twice, and adding the spare pair of stretch gloves to the same order if you sit near a size boundary.
