Affiliate disclosure
How this site is paid for, and why money never decides what we list.
You should always know how a website that sends you to stores is paid. Here is the complete answer for The Code Planet, starting with where things stand today.
Affiliate links are off. Right now, none of the links on this site are affiliate links. We earn nothing when you follow a link to a store or use a code. If that changes, this sentence will change with it, and so will the notice at the top of every store page.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a link to a store that lets the store know a shopper came from us. If you buy something after following it, the store may pay us a small commission on that sale. The commission comes out of the store’s own marketing budget. You pay exactly the same price, and any code you use works exactly the same way.
How it works on this site
We may switch affiliate links on in the future. If we do:
- Some links to stores and products will become affiliate links. Not every store runs an affiliate programme, so not every link will be one.
- The notice at the top of every store page, and the status at the top of this page, will say so plainly.
- Those links will be marked as sponsored for search engines, as Google asks.
What money never decides
Which stores we list
A store is listed because shoppers look for it, not because it pays us.
Which code comes first
A higher commission never moves one code above another.
Whether a code is checked
“Checked by our team” means a person checked it. It cannot be bought.
What our guides say
Stores cannot pay to be recommended or to change a guide. See our editorial policy.
Why we tell you this
We follow the US Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements, which asks sites to disclose clearly any payment that could affect how you read what they publish. We would tell you anyway. A code site is only useful if you can trust it.
